Director / Lead Coach:
Callaway Logan
Callaway Logan is the director and lead coach of BYVA. She started this organization so that elementary and middle school kids in the Boerne area (and surrounding areas) could have the opportunity to learn and develop their volleyball skills at an early age.
Callaway has volleyball experience coaching, recruiting and playing at a variety of levels. She is currently the owner of Collegiate Recruiting Xperts (CRX). At CRX she works with players from 7th-12th grade who have the skill, commitment and academic qualifications to play at the collegiate level and guides them in their recruiting process.
Before CRX, Callaway spent five years as a volleyball recruiter/area director with other companies. She was also the Head Volleyball Coach at the DII and NAIA levels for six years. She was twice named Conference Coach of the Year (2012 and 2014) and led her team to three consecutive conference final appearances from 2012-2014.
Before arriving at St. Thomas, she served as the head coach at Oldham County High School in Buckner, Kentucky. Callaway’s team qualified for the Elite Eight in her first year there for the school's first-ever Kentucky State Tournament appearance. As a result, she was named the Coach of the Year for Kentucky's Region 8. In three years at Oldham County, she went 85-25 (winning percentage of .773) and led her team to two district finals and two regional finals, winning one district and one regional title. Logan got Oldham County ranked as high as No. 11 in the state by the end of her tenure for the school's highest ranking in history.
Callaway also spent two years coaching at Alabama Juniors and one year at KIVA, considered one of the top club volleyball programs in the country. During her 12 year coaching career, she hosted numerous volleyball clinics and camps for players from age 3 – 18.
Before coaching, the Louisville, Kentucky native was a standout on the court, playing from 2003-2006 for NCAA Division I Samford University, where she ranked third all-time in career digs while playing outside hitter and libero.
Callaway graduated in 2007 from Samford with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Mass Communications and also graduated from University of the Cumberlands in 2010 with a Master's in Education.
